A wonderful way to rise above what's holding you back is to begin ho'oponopono prayer meditation to clean your mind of negative emotions and thoughts that may be holding you back in life.
Ho'oponopono is a modern form of traditional Hawaiian prayer for healing that purifies the mind and cleans the soul of the long-term debilitating effects of negative thoughts, emotions and short-term pains.
It's a very easy healing practice to learn and make use of. It involves the repetition of four short, simple yet powerful phrases or mantras that embody specific intentions to bring about the healing desired.
This rather simple mediation method is based more on the complex idea that all humanity is interconnected and all is connected with nature.
When we meditate, focusing on our own pain (or that of another person), we create healing with the expression of love, repentance, forgiveness and gratitude.
Hawaiian psychologist Ihaleakala Hew Len's updated version, which he calls SITH (Self Identity Through Ho’oponopono), has produced some remarkable results with this practice. Dr. Len is said to have helped people heal through this method, after studying their charts. He did not even meet with them.
This Hawaiian tradition has had a profound impact on many lives.
You might start by meditating on an issue you can accept responsibility for, such a health problem or a relationship.
After you've gotten comfortable with the healing practice, you might then want to concentrate on a particular conflict or issue that you have with a person.
Over time, it is possible to extend your healing work so that you can help someone who has a similar issue but doesn't affect you directly. It could be your personal problems or issues of peace or conflict in the community you live in or the wider world.
Begin by thinking of a source of pain, suffering or distress and repeating these four thoughts whenever you feel inspired.
Remember that the traditional Hawaiian prayers focuses on connecting all humanity with God or nature. It is less important who these thoughts are directed to and more important that they are expressed, whether it be in your head or out loud.
This ancient Hawaiian tradition is for spiritual healing and forgiveness. This prayer aims at clearing negative memories stored subconsciously within our body and mind.
The mantra is deceptively simple in form, yet surprisingly powerful in effect.
As you will see below, it is comprised of four short phrases, or intentions. The order that you choose to express these intentions is flexible, but this is the order that I personally prefer:
This mantra can be explained thus:
The traditional practice of Ho'oponopono should leave you with a feeling of healing, as well as a positive connection with others.
The ancient Hawaiian practice Ho'oponopono promotes forgiveness and reconciliation.
It's not just about praying; it is a process to restore harmony in all your relationships, with others and deities.
Family rituals focus on working through issues together, sharing feelings and letting go. There is the facility for holding a sacred space for repentance, forgiveness and gratitude.
Exchanges of words are made, feelings are revealed and forgiveness is given. It is possible that a celebratory feast will follow to symbolize the release.
The philosophy of this practice is to take responsibility for the reality we create. We take responsibility for our emotions and our life experiences.
Even if someone has wronged you, you are the one who says "I love you, I'm sorry, please forgive me, thank you."
Unity is the basis of this practice. A bond that cannot be broken connects all people, even when they appear so distant.
If errors are corrected on the outside, they will be corrected on the inside. You can contribute to the "collective conscious" by cleansing your mind. If you forgive other people, you will also be forgiven.
As within, so beyond.
You can love your partner and yourself at the same time as professing love for all of nature and all of the miraculous things that make up your life.
If you concentrate on healing your past, it will help you heal right here and now. You can correct your mental errors and adjust physical problems by adjusting your thinking.
As above, so below.
This last saying has a great deal of power in that it reconciles the actions of the conscious world with the consequences of the subconscious world.
This practice helps you understand, and then heal, the life experiences that you have either attracted to you or in which you've participated.
While ho'oponopono Prayer may not be the complete Hawaiian training you need, it is still a powerful healing tool for the things that have happened to you and the struggles that are still present.
